Under the oversight of the Mount Baker Council, the Whirlybirds was started in 1957 from a group of coworkers in Everett who wanted to dance. Having chosen the name "Whirlybirds" from a TV show (and, in a way, we do whirl around like helicopters when we really get going!). This developed into a local square dance club associated with the United Square Dancers of America (USDA).
When we are not tearing up the dance floor, we love to caravan to other clubs and dance with them. We enjoy meals with one another as a group. We have even been known to go far afield across the mountains to camp and dance with each other at workshops and meet new dancers!
We love to dance and sincerely welcome you to our square. Join us in the Fun!
